All's clear
Online therapy is not appropriate for individuals who are experiencing an acute crisis and want or need immediate intervention. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or of harming others, or are experiencing symptoms of a mental illness or emotional turmoil that is causing significant difficulties functioning in your day-to-day life, please contact your local mental health centre, crisis line, or go to the nearest hospital’s emergency department.
What we do?
Online therapy allows for conversations with a licensed psychologist from the comfort and privacy of your own home. In email based therapy, the therapeutic conversation occurs over time, giving you the time to consider your thoughts and feelings about the issue and decide what you want to say. You then have the freedom to read, review, and think about your psychologist’s reply at your own pace. The conversation occurs when it is convenient for you.
Who we are?
Campanula Psychological Services is owned and operated by a Registered Psychologist. At the present time, we are offering email based therapy, and plan to expand our services in the future. Our services are available only to residents of Canada 18 years of age or older.
Why a Psychologist?
A psychologist is a regulated professional who studies how we think, feel and behave from a scientific viewpoint and applies this knowledge to help people understand and change their behaviour, thoughts and emotions. They are a member of a regulatory body that licenses his or her practice and ensures that the practitioner has met a high standard of training and provides a high standard of service. The regulatory body has the role of protecting the public by ensuring that its practitioners are properly trained and are competent. With a non-regulated counsellor, there are no guarantees that they are competent to provide the services they are offering and have no regulatory body to contact if there are concerns. The minimum academic qualification for registration as a psychologist is an earned graduate degree. After graduation, a year or more of supervised practice is required, and both a written and an oral examination must be passed.
