“Hanging Around” music video was directed by Sophie Muller,[1] and is based on the 1965 Roman Polanski film, Repulsion, with Nina Persson playing the role of ‘Carol.

I first found out about the Repulsion movie after I watched a video music by Röyksopp – She’s So, which I am not sure if it’s their official music video. The video contains scenes of Carol, who was wandering around the street while she’s lost in herself.
It’s just so dreamy to see such black and white movie used in the music. It’s like I was trapped in the moment of time in the past.
